Can't Stop Won't Stop Pt5

- Afrika Bambaataa - Bambaataa's Theme
This is awesome! I'd listen to this any day! In fact, I'll put this on The Vibe playlist.

- Afrika Bambaataa - Tension
I can hear how this is proto-hiphop. The beats of this and the previous song are getting there.

Parliament - Mothership Connection
This is rap! They finally invented rap! Even though the terms "hiphop" and "rap" don't exist yet?
I don't like Handcuffs, though. Those annoying screams, like some artist before, plus the lyrics are 🚩🚩🚩

- Afrika Bambaataa x Zulu Nation x Cosmic Force - Zulu Nation Throwdown Pt. 1 & Pt. 2
Yeeey, rap! Finally! The first two songs from this book I'll add to my Rap & Hiphop playlist!

- D.J. Afrika Bambaataa - Death Mix Part 1 & Part 2
It's mainly an instrumental beat, but then he (or someone) starts rapping over it. :) Good stuff.

Then there were a bunch of songs the guys were sampling or something, but I can't find the full albums, so I just looked up the songs, I hope these are the same versions... I looked up the album contents on Discogs, the label has a running album number listing. The Ultimate Breaks and Beats records listed in the book released by Street Beat Records are numbers SB-501 and SB-505. I can't find the albums from Spotify, YouTube, or my local library, so I just looked up the individual songs that I could.
- The Monkees - Mary, Mary
- The Winstons - Amen Brother
- Rufus Thomas - Do The Funky Penguin (Pt. 1 & Pt. 2)
- Johnny "Hammond" Smith - Shifting Gears
- Bo Diddley - Hit Or Miss
- The Wild Magnolias - Soul, Soul, Soul
- 20th Century Steel Band - Heaven and Hell Is on Earth (I think they meant this one? It's the closest title I could find.)
- Banbarra - Shack Up

Freedom - Get Up And Dance - The Best of
Meh. He's a talented singer, but this music is repetitive and boring AF. No one's even rapping. I thought we got past the sampled songs phase of this book and into actual hiphop?

Sly & The Family Stone - Stand & There's a Riot Going On
Sorry, but I don't see what does this have to do with hiphop...
