Ren - Money Ties (Initial Thoughts)

The lady in the beginning is speaking the truth.
Humans can be content with very little, but if anyone desires more than they need, it leads to corruption and loss of moral.

This video quality is... something else. It's like a movie!

I love the visual of the graffiti tags in the elevator.
I got into graffiti in August and found a workshop in my area and joined it. We've had two workshops thus far and are going to have two more later this month. The guy who represents the organization that hosts the workshop (a local volunteer-based organization, focused on hiphop culture) taught me that tags are the origin off all graffiti, and it was started by this one dude who just kept writing his name all over on walls, and through that people learned who he was. He literally put his name in the world. And then other people started copying him and soon everyone and their mother was doing tags and no one was special and stood out anymore, so they started to make their tags fancier and add things to them and that slowly evolved into the more complex forms of graffiti we have now, with the 3D effects and embellishments.
All these people wrote their tags into the elevator walls, with hopes that like the elevator, their name would "go up", they'd gain success in life. But an elevator can just as easily go down as it goes up. Life is a gamble, you never know what it'll bring to you.

Ren's also in a moving train, a moving car, on a escalator going up, a staircase. More visual representations of him moving forward and up. Him, or the people being greedy who he's talking about. They get further in life, but at what cost?

PS. There's a bunch of stuff I missed, like that the speech in the beginning is from the Bible. I've never heard it in English before. Here, go watch Knox's reaction, he caught a lot of stuff that I didn't: WE ALL NEED TO HEAR THIS! | Rapper Reacts to Ren - Money Ties (FIRST REACTION) (youtube.com)
