BLAKSWAN (Deep Dive)

He has like six songs and I need a post for Tuesday, so...

I've heard MOMMY and DADDY before and like those.
I was writing the Yearly Recap post today and got to these songs and re-listened to them and realized how much he reminds me of Ashnikko and now that I went to his YouTube page, I see that he has done a remix of Ash's song Slumber Party. So he's a fan of hers as well. So it makes total sense that his music has a similar vibe! I'm digging it.

JESUSCHRIST SUPERSTAR

It's a musical, right? Haven't seen it, probably should. I've heard good things about it.

The video and the song a little bit as well are giving "edgy teenager" and "I'm 14 and this is deep", but like... it kind of is edgy and deep. Just a bit over the top. The kind of song that'd make a gatekeeping shitheads cringe and call him a poser, but would also give your conservative aunt a heart attack.

Tried looking up his age, but can't find it. He seems young, like, early 20s young.
Also, his online handle seems to be discountchrist. 

COLTRANE

I liked this more than JESUSCHRIST SUPERSTAR. But I don't get the song title on this one. The only Coltrane I know is Robbie Coltrane, the actor. RIP.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about someone he doesn't like, a woman:

Like, how the other person is being a coward, a pussy vs. pussy aka vagina being the area of expertise of a gynecologist.
She gets on top of him, like they're having sex and she's on top, vs. meritocracy, a ruling system where people who are good at something are the ones in power. She's good at sex, so she's on the top.
But she's a radical feminist or a misandrist and says "fuck men", like she doesn't like men, but then has sex with Swan, so clearly she's still attracted to men. I don't know if it's hypocrisy, though. I know plenty of misogynists who clearly don't like women or see them as people equal to them, and they still sleep with women, so... She could just be an objectifying dousche who just likes Swan for his body and what she can get out of him. So, I'd say she's a misandrist and not a radical feminist. The most radical or radical feminists want a society that has no men. They wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole.

SLUMBER PARTY (Ashnikko Remix)

This shit's fire!

The song's obviously an homage and sampling Slumber Party, an Ashnikko song about her having a crush on and sleeping with a girl who has a boyfriend, and then the girl going back to the boyfriend after that, leaving Ash heartbroken. The video of this remix is a homage to Ash's song STUPID, which is about an ex-boyfriend whom she found to be annoying and smug. The video of STUPID has Ash and the featuring artist Baby Tate (back then known as Yung Baby Tate) going on a killing spree, killing their ex-boyfriends. They're clothed, Swan is naked. In that video and in this video the artist(s) are covered in blood, there's a visual callback to the STUPID video when Swan rings the doorbell, Ash did the same in her video, and also there's a list of "Ashnikko's ex-boyfriends" and Blakswan is on that. In the end, there's Swan dressed as Ash, and Swan-Ash kills the naked Swan.

I like his videos. They're low-budget, but don't look like they are. He does a lot with the little he has. It's inspiring. Even though guns aren't really my thing, I think America has way too many guns. Although, if they didn't, kids would just kill each other with knives like in Britain and here in Finland.

The lyrics aren't online, but here's some things I could catch from the audio:

- I think he's sampling Ash in the beginning. The audio is distorted, but the delivery (flow etc) are so spot on I think that's her vocal track from the original song.

- "Can I, can I, can I... call you my girlfriend if I lick on your clit? / Can I call you my baby if I suck my own dick? / And can I call you my princess if I shower you with gifts? / If I showered in your piss? This song's amazing! It starts off being about sex, like the original, but then it ends up being a feminist song, written by a man. I love him. I need more of this in my life. Subscribed, with notifications on. I've liked all his songs, but this is... something else. This is solidarity, and smarts, and... Not an edgy teenager. Sure, he's naked, there's blood, the lyrics are a bit out there, but... It was a purpose here. It has artistic value.

Him being naked makes sense, because 1) the song is about sex, at a surface level, an activity that people do naked 2) he's exposed, literally and figuratively 3) he's remixing as song about an "all-girl party, clothing optional", and you can't do that unless you get why songs like that matter. Why artists like Ashnikko matter. And he gets it. He's not seeing Slumber Party as lesbian sex, made to please men, because it isn't. It's real and authentic gay sex. Also, people don't just experiment with their sexuality at slumber parties, they talk about deep shit they wouldn't talk about in school. And he's talking about deep societal issues here as well. Pointing out how porn distorts men's brains into thinking lesbian sex involves them in any kind (as a participant or as a viewer), and what lesbian sex looks like in the first place. Pointing out how pretty much all of society's issues are caused by men.

"Take my money and dignity, girl, you have the advantage" reminds me of PiNKII's song Feminist. It's about how (some) men lose all respect for a woman if she does sex work, and they think they can say and do anything they want to her. No. If she has an OF, if she's a cam girl, if she's a prostitute. That's her job. You're a customer. You're not her boss, you're not her friend, you're not her boyfriend. She only owes you what you pay for and if you misbehave, she has the right to not deliver even that. You do not get to treat her like crap or touch her without her consent.
Also, Ashnikko's Possession of a Weapon. Which is about women having the power in the world, because men are so caught up thinking about pussies. Exact same thing that Swan said here. Women have the advantage over men that men want to have sex with them.
Women don't need men but men need women. Men wouldn't exist without women. "Science babies" are on their way of being reality and when they are, men are not needed to make babies anymore. You still need a uterus to grow the baby in, so women (and other people with uteruses) are still needed.
I'm done coddling men's feeling about these things, or any things, really. Get with the times now like Swan or be left behind while the rest of us move on.

Most of murders are committed by men. Most of pollution is caused by big companies, run by men. Most wars start because countries' leaders start them, and those leaders are mostly men.

When the Swan in a hoodie opens the door and tells the naked Swan these things - how his mom should have had an abortion, because men do so much evil in the world, the naked Swan wants to die and finds Ash, who kills him.

I think he's saying he knows he's bad, that's why he's praying for forgiveness... Not only is he aware he's bad, he also wants others to know what he knows.

I also can't help but to think of the expression "kitchen sink psychology". It's the kind of psychology that a layman understands. Like, he read about it from a credible source, but admits that he's not a professional, he's not a psychologist, so what he's saying should be taken with a grain of salt, being a little sceptical about it.
Swan doesn't have a pussy, and he's not rich or famous (yet), so he can't 100% know what he's talking about, but he can still say what he thinks is the truth, blow someone's brain with what he knows.

The verses describe him having sex and committing violence, pretty typical Blakswan lyrics. 
"Packing lyrical slugs in my gun at your knife fight", though, so he's killing them with the lyrics, not literally.

In the video he kills a couple literally.

Also, might be another Ashnikko shoutout? She has a song called Drunk With My Friends, where she has the bars "pussy, pussy my religion / legs getting tired, can we switch positions? / Now we three-way kissing / I wanna make a couple bad decisions", and I get the same vibe from this song. Pussy, money, fame are not good things to place your life on, to worship. Sure, these things rule the world, but still. There are more important things in this life than sex, money and status.

I really really like him. The Ashnikko remix is definitely my favorite concept-wise and lyric-wise, made me truly interested in him as a person and as an artist. Not just as someone making bangers like I thought he was, but an actually good person I want to support. 
Sonically, all his songs are great, but I think My Religion is the one I like the most. That rapping was hella impressive!

I already follow him on Spotify and YouTube, so I'll get back to him once he releases new music.
