Ashnikko ft. Avelino - Bubblegum (Lyrical Breakdown)

The song's one of my least favorite Ashnikko songs, but there are some good bars in there and I want to do a lyrical breakdown on all of her songs, so... Here we go.

Your teeth underneath my tongue
I can get you off, don't forget my fun
Bubblegum, got your brain fizzin' like cola
Candyland's a trap, stick around and I'll show ya (Show ya)
Don't wanna get to know ya
Dead in your car they found out when they told ya (Ha ha)
Laugh it off as a joke
Cause baby girl's sweet and she won't slit your throat, right? (Right)
I slipped the coke in your coat and told them to check your pockets in the alley where you smoked
Sorry, did I mention that I'm vengeful?
You want to snuggle but I'm more experimental

"Your teeth underneath my tongue" = they're making out, her tongue is in his mouth.
"
I can get you off, don't forget my fun" = sex. She gets him off, he gets her off.
'Brain is fizzing like Cola' is a double. Cola is a fizzy drink, it has carbon dioxide which makes it form small bubbles and that creates a certain sound. His brain is fizzing like Cola, there's lots of "movement" there, lots of thoughts moving rapidly. She's making him feel puzzled.
Candyland's a children's board game.
Ash is sweet like candy or bubblegum (or pancakes, later in the song). She's sexy, but the "candyland" that is her body is a trap.
Bubblegum is pink and sweet, but bubblegum is also sticky and it can pop (off). If you "stick around" with the bubblegum, you'll see it/her pop (off).
She's out for revenge. The verse has two scenarios - in one she has slit his throat and left him in his car for his friends to find him, in the other she slips cocaine in his pocket and then tells the cops he has cocaine.

Sold my panties in Japan
I want to stick it to the man
Bubblegum on you tongue
Pancakes stacking maple syrup on your hands
Pancakes stacking maple syrup on your
Pancakes stacking maple syrup on your
Pancakes stacking
Pancakes stacking (Hahahaha, UH!)

Ash and her producer Raf Riley went to Japan to gather inspiration for this album, because anime and other Japanese media were a pretty big part of her image and brand back then (and still are to some extent).
I'm not sure if Ash actually sold her panties, but it's possible. In case you don't know, girls and women selling their used panties is a thing in Japan. There are vending machines and companies dedicated to this thing alone, it's not uncommon for high school girls to sell their panties to get some extra cash, for example.
Ash likes to "stick it to the man" = "To take some action intended to defy a source of oppression such as globalization, commercialization, big business or government (on the large scale) or individual leaders and authorities like teachers, bosses, police, or politicians." (Quote from Wiktionary)
When the creepy men buy Ash's used underpants, it's kinda a same thing as if they'd give her head or kissed her ass.
It's not the same thing, IMO, but I think that's the implication.

One of the biggest reasons I don't like this song is that you have to know what the previous song Sass Pancakes is about to get some of these lyrics. And hearing the next song, Fuck Me In Shibuya, doesn't hurt either, because that makes it obvious she went to Japan. The lyrics of this song don't make sense on their own, they lack context.
Anyway, the Sass Pancakes are the layers of Ash's mind - there's multiple different layers (she's not just one thing, she's complex) and she's giving us a "piece of her mind". That song also has a bar "I'm sweet, maple syrup on the beat" = Ash is sweet, but sticky/catchy, much like bubblegum.

You'll find me on a sunset cloud
Near the sweet peach sun, no boys allowed
Girl scouts honor, I've solemnly vowed
When it's hot tip me over and pour me out
Gossip, gossip, I think I've lost it
Gossip, gossip, I think I've lost it
Gossip, gossip, I think I've lost it
Left my mind on Venus and I think she tossed it
Bubblegum color like pink areolas
The knife's wet, the man loves to control us
Sass Pancakes, yeah she flips 'em
Drizzle some maple syrup, lick it quick son

This verse makes more sense if you've heard Fuck Me In Shibuya first. In there, a guy pretends not to know her after they've had a one night stand, and she fantasizes about pushing him off the balcony at sunset. I think this might be the same sunset - the end of their trip to Japan and the end of his life.
But it could also be a bit more metaphorical - the sunset clouds have a pink shade to them, like bubblegum, and she's on the clouds. In my mental image, the cloud is soft, she's laying on it naked like Katy Perry in her California Gurls music video, the peach is probably a woman's skin, probably her ass cheeks (the peach emoji), and this is an all girl party.
"
Girl scouts honor, I've solemnly vowed" = she's telling the truth, she's solemnly vowed like a girl scout or like in court.
"
When it's hot tip me over and pour me out / Gossip, gossip, I think I've lost it" = The saying of "spilling the tea" - when the tea is hot, pour the truthful words out of Ash. But instead of the truth, we get gossip... Ash cannot speak the truth, because her mind is stuck on Venus (a female goddess, with the peach ass cheeks, on the cloud) and she's preoccupied with sexual thoughts.
Even the sticky, popping bubblegum is now a woman's nipples.

But then she jumps right back into talking business - maybe the pink areolas and the earlier bars about using her sexuality as a weapon are the thing that got her mind back on track, but that's a stretch... I just truly don't get most of these lyrics.
The knife's wet with blood, but it's a bit unclear who hurt whom - did Ash stab a man, or did a man stab a woman.
Sass Pancakes are not only layers of her mind or her giving us a "piece of her mind" - they also have another side to them. Like the two sides of a coin, the pancakes, or the issues she's bringing up, have another side to them. It could also be a reference to the saying "flipping tables" or "flipping someone off" - she's angry. But the maple syrup to me sounds like she's willing to "sugar coat" her message, but only for a while. Get the sweetness while you still can, 'cause soon she'll flip the sass pancake and instead of sweet you get sass.

[Verse 3: Avelino]
(Yea, yea, Oh, V)
Maple syrup in my hands
I'm the man, got them niggas and your man
Such a handful, you can't fit it in your hands
I'll be quicker than the quickie you can fit it in your plans
First come first served, I was there first
Middle finger fuck you till you're screaming swear words
Fuck what you heard till your ear hurts
You're a blessin' and a curse, I guess I'm blessin' dere first
Get the fuck on your knees, girl
I know that's what I mean, I swear I mean well
I'm a – hot male I send you females
And if I gave them the D, they'll give you the details
Pancakes stackin', stack in my cake pan and
Looking left and right on that pussy I ain't banging
But I'm a magician let's make magic
We can hangover till we're hanging

There's so much sweet maple syrup he and a bunch of other dudes can't fit it in their hands?
He has a bunch of doubles, where on one side it's a sexual innuendo and on the other it's him being angry at someone:

  • a handful of the sweetness can mean boobs, but also "a handful" can mean "a person who is very difficult to deal with"
  • a quickie is a quick fuck, i.e. before you and your spouse have to get up and get the kids to school and yourselves to work, or it could mean that Avelino just has one quick thing to say, this won't take long, so just listen
  • middle finger can be used in fingering, but it's also the one you stick up when you want to say "fuck you" to someone
  • screaming swear words because it feels so good, sexually, or screaming swear words because you're so angry?
  • "fuck what you heard till your ear hurts" xD That would hurt the ear quite soon... But also, he's saying "fuck the gossip" and he's gonna keep saying that until your ear hurts.
Then he goes onto saying a girl is a blessing and a curse - he likes the sex, but sometimes she makes him very angry, as we just witnessed.
He's starting with the blessing, and that's why he needs her on her knees. But it's another sexual innuendo, obviously.
The rest probably has doubles, too, but I only get the part where he's Ashnikko's friend / wing man. He's a hot man, who sleeps with women and then the women come to Ash. And then Avelino and Ash hang out, drink until they're hanging (almost falling asleep) and then sleep and have a hangover the next day.

I don't get all of their bars, so I might come back and edit this post or write a comment if I realize something another day.
