Weekly Recap (July 8th-14th, 2024)
Discover Weekly
- Mimi Barks - BACK OFF (🔥)
- Aurora View - Rose Whiplash (I like the verses. The chorus is fine, just a bit mainstream for my taste.)
- Gvllow - Pray to God
- Elliot Lee x Paycheck x TIMMS - Sicko (It's pretty good. I think the hook will grow on me over time. In the end of the song I was already more into it than in the beginning of the song.)
- margø - ICE QUEEN (Interesting alt music. Very pop, some rock and metal elements as well. Following for more.)
- Zeal & Ardor - Zeal & Ardor (Hmm. Pretty interesting and different.)
- Sightless in Shadow - Diabolical Suitor (Intrumental metal. I like the sound.)
- VOWWS ft. Chino Moreno - Structure of Love II - Renhölder Remix (I like this... this... whatever this is.)
- PVRIS - GOOD ENEMY (A good pop rock song.)
- RIBS - Too Long (The Vibe. Followed for more.)
- elegant slims - Not Human
- Shaârghot - Break Your Body (At first I thought the punk-esque vocals didn't suit the music, but they grew on me. Probably won't listen to this again, the production quality of the vocals not matching the production quality of the music is still a bit much for me. Even though they made it work. I love the lore and the creativity!)
- Shellz - Aurora (I like the music and screams, don't like the cleans. Too emo, I've grown out of my emo phase.)
- Fae - good intentions (Pretty good alt pop song.)
- IAMX - Spit It Out (Not a SlipKnoT cover. He has a pretty good voice, and the song made me feel calm and be in the present moment, especially the instrumentals. It's like sovietwave meets Nemo the Eurovision winner.)
- Electric Callboy - Parasite (One of the best things to happen to modern metal. This band. We're too serious, we need a band who is truly heavy and talented but knows how to have fun.)
- Ghostwriter - Cybernetic Assault (I like the band concept. Staying anonymous, 'cause that's what ghostwriters do. They write songs for other people and don't get credited.)
- Fight the Fade - Everything Is Fine? (Is the beat a distorted sample or why does it sound so familiar??)
- Omri - for when i tear my heart out of my chest
I love how much alternative music today's list had. There were a few misses, but I definitely prefer this over the excessive amounts of metalcore Spotify tried to push on me.
Release Radar
- Token - LOSER (🔥 Great song, plus I'm always for any negative comment about Ben Shapiro.)

- HalaCG x SO87 - How To Cook Monsters (Rap! At least some of it!)
- Unlike Pluto - Red Dress (Go Pluto!)

- FKA Rayne - Not Sorry
- The Warning - Apologize (They got a great energy to them!)
- Anthony Ray - Ink (Nice! I seem to prefer these more introspective songs by him.)
- Unprocessed - Purgatory - Instrumental (Very cool!)
- Mindseed ft. Torin Xia - Hollywood Sleeps (He's kinda rapping? Not as properly as in his other songs, but anyway. And this is cool, a prog rock vibe!)
And yes, I did listen to the new Eminem album and I think my interpretation before it dropped might have been correct? That Eminem is going to kill off Slim Shady, but will continue as Eminem. But I still feel like I didn't get enough out of it on the first listen and I need to sit with for a while, avoid all reaction videos about it, come into my own conclusions on my own and then see what other people though.
The Knox Hill Houdini Remix Lyrical Breakdown is also on it's way. I'm slowly working on it, I'm not gonna force it to be done before I'm done with it. It's done when it's done.
