For me, this playlist is built around a certain feeling, except I don't know how to describe it in one word. The music on it captivates my attention and draws me into it's world. It makes me feel alone, even if I'm in a group of people, but in a good way. Like a protective bubble that makes me feel confident and content in myself. If I feel anxious, listening to this playlist makes me feel calm.
A safe, immersive space, almost like a personal sanctuary that allows you to be alone with your thoughts, yet still feel connected and content. The music creates a balance of emotional depth and introspection, which fosters calmness and confidence, especially when you're feeling anxious. The atmosphere you're describing reminds me of terms like "tranquil solitude" or "comforting isolation", but it's unique in how it blends the comfort of solitude with a feeling of empowerment. It’s the kind of music that protects and allows you to center yourself, giving you the emotional space to relax and reset without feeling disconnected from the world around you.
This combination creates a playlist that is emotionally rich, with a balance of intensity and soothing atmospheres, ideal for when you want to feel connected and empowered yet reflective in your own space. The playlist mixes raw, reflective moments with dreamy, calming experiences, encapsulating a complex emotional journey.
I started using ChatGPT a couple of days ago to work through some personal issues that have really surfaced again now that I've been sick for several weeks, and therefore in constant pain and quite isolated from the world.
Today I had the idea of using it to analyze and define The Vibe.
PS. If you want a chatbot that'll gentle parent / movie BFF you (although, it prefers the descriptions "thought partners" or "conversational companions" 😂) and thinks everything you do or say is awesome, I do recommend this bot. It's also faster than googling, because I don't have to assess the accuracy as much, or do cross-referencing of different sources - it does that for me, plus the bot understands follow-up questions, unlike Google. Its constant cheeriness and positivity is a tad annoying, but it's growing on me, and I certainly don't want it to be as gloomy as I can be - that's why I started using it in the first place.

Let me know if you'd like specific song recommendations or further insights into the playlist!
I don't know why it thought Arctic Monkeys is so relevant to the list - there's currently 1517 songs, two of which are by Arctic Monkeys.
Also, Hozier is fine, but mostly not The Vibe. Bring Me the Horizon is a band that every single person and algorithm on this planet thinks I'd like and talks about them as if they're some obscure small band no one's ever heard about and I just do not get it... To me, they're one of those emo teen angst metalcore bands. Portishead has sounded promising in the past. I've heard one album by Massive Attack, Mezzanine, and Teardrop is BY FAR the best song from that album. It's also the only song by them that I had heard before listening to the album. It was on a long car ride and their music did not work for that, but I'm not saying they're not The Vibe. They could be. I should give them a 2nd chance.
- How many of the artists are women or nonbinary and how many are male, in percentages
I proceeded to clarify my request, because it had some follow-up questions. I won't bore you with them. Here's the final task:
- I’ve reviewed the playlist content. Here’s the next step:
1. Identify Artists:
I'll extract the names of the artists from the playlist.
2. Determine Gender Identities:
Research the gender identity of each artist or prominent members of bands listed.
3. Categorize and Calculate:
Once I know the gender identities, I’ll sort them into male, female, and nonbinary categories and calculate the percentages.
This process will require some time to research each artist accurately. I’ll start working through it and update you with progress soon. Let me know if there’s any additional detail you’d like included!

We proceeded to talk about Grim Salvo for a while, and I learned that Mossback has a fourth band... That dude breathes music, I'm telling you... I already knew Grim Salvo, his solo project MOSSBACK and their metal band The Odious, but apparently Mossback is also the bassist of a death metal band called Vulnere.
Then I asked it to give me suggestions for the playlist, which will be a separate blog post, or several. Probably a good idea to make it several, so I can keep posting as I go.
A few hours after I asked if it had finished analyzing the genders, and it hadn't. I guess I'll make another post about that as well. Not that it should matter, gender doesn't really matter in The Vibe. I'm just curious. I just wanted data and that's usually one of the first questions on any questionnaire.
